“The minute I heard my first love story
I started looking for you, not knowing
How blind that was.
Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere,
They’re in each other all along”

—Rumi

Firstly, Welcome and Congratulations. You’re getting married!

Whether your wedding is intimate, large, small, traditional, modern, elegant, rustic, quirky, glamorous or themed, it needs to reflect you - who you are as a couple, your values, your life and love signature.

Your ceremony is the heart and soul of your wedding. It’s what people travel across the world for - to witness you saying “I do”.

It’s an opportunity for you to tell your love story in the ways that are important to you, to the people that mean the most to you. And to incorporate any special elements that make your day unique.

Choosing a celebrant is an important decision in your wedding preparations…

As a celebrant, what matters to me is getting to know you both, and listening to what you really want, or helping you to discover that. I offer ideas, information, loads of resources, equipment (PA if needed), and help create the ceremony that truly reflects you both, your life and love story, and your values.

The Process

On the day, the Ceremony is often where the magic happens, but there are some significant steps along the way to prepare for that…

1 - Getting to Know You

Firstly, get in touch with a phone call or email to check my availability for your date, time and location.

If it all lines up, we could then have a no-obligation meeting over a drink to talk about your ideas, what you’d like and to see if we’re all the right fit.

2 - Going Ahead

If you’d like to book me as your celebrant, I ask you to pay a booking fee to secure my services, and I’ll send you all the relevant paperwork to fill out, and a questionnaire for each of you (which helps me get a sense of your story from both sides) and I send you resources (poems, possible elements to include, vow examples, script examples) for inspiration.

We meet again to go through the legal paperwork, and complete the Notice of Intended Marriage. We can also talk in more detail about your ideas, I can hear more about your love story in depth, and we can brainstorm some elements you may like to include in the ceremony.

3 - Fine-tuning the Ceremony

Drawing upon your input, I will draft the ceremony and email it to you for feedback and adjustments. This continues until it’s just right! I can also help you with your vows, and offer Vow Workshops to couples that want help with drafting unique and individual vows.

4 - Rehearsal

I always advise a rehearsal if possible in the week leading up to the wedding. Here we can stage where people will be, run through the steps and timing, and complete the final paperwork. This gives us all peace of mind as we can troubleshoot any potential issues and will help you feel more at ease on the day.

5 - The Wedding

On your day I will arrive 45-60 minutes prior to your start time, to set up, check in with the groomsman and grooms party,  and greet guests. The magic happens - we do the ceremony - and the final paperwork is signed and witnessed.

I discreetly pack my things as you and your guests continue with the celebrations and I lodge the paperwork.

You start your life as a married couple and continue to make memories…
